DC Cherry Blossoms & Gender Reveal

Happy Spring everyone! I am so happy it’s finally beautiful outside! Last weekend, some good friends and I (read about our camping adventure last fall here) ventured out into the craziness that is DC during the Cherry Blossom Festival. After driving inching along for 2 hours downtown (no joke), we headed to the National Mall and the tidal basin to have a mini-picnic and take some pictures.

I’m wearing all Target, and none of it is maternity, though it is extremely comfortable and stretchy! I’m at that point where there’s not really hiding my pregnancy any more, and I’m hoping people see it as a baby bump and not a food baby!

On Friday, I went in for an ultrasound to determine the gender. It’s crazy how big the baby has gotten- the size of a sweet potato!

And we found out….

It’s a girl!

We are so excited. I thought it was a boy the whole time, so it was a bit of an adjustment for me, but I’m really happy.  Scott was sick and couldn’t go to the doctor’s appointment with me, so my pastor’s wife went and I drove to Target afterwards to buy an outfit and put it in a gift bag to surprise Scott. Her name is Allie Rebecca Cope, and we can’t wait to meet her in September!
