Okay…so I know the first day of fall isn’t technically for another month, but it’s almost September and fall is my favorite season! As much as I love the bright colors and breezy sundresses of summer, fall layers trump them in my book! Being 9 months pregnant, I’m not really in a good place to do a fashion shoot, but the lack of outfit posts lately on the blog has definitely been disappointing for me. I love sharing other types of posts, but fashion posts are my favorite and the reason I started blogging! Therefore, I’m sharing some fall fashion tips and photos from an article I wrote for my college magazine a few years ago.
For a more formal look, perfect for a date or holiday party, pair an embellished skirt with tights and sparkly heels for a touch of class and festivity. To achieve a vintage feel, like the look above, combine a solid color top with a feminine skirt in a complementary color and choose accessories like gold lockets or jeweled hair combs.

To transition your summer dresses to the cooler months, add tights and riding boots in neutral colors. Play up a fun pattern with accessories such as bangles, dangle earrings, and strand necklaces. Keep everything, including the boots and tights, in a neutral color to avoid clashing and keep the attention on the patterned dress.

If you’re into a more alternative look, pair printed leggings with motorcycle boots and a chunky sweater. Keep your color palette limited for the winter months as the printed fabric will speak for itself and adding a bright color will seem out of place.
